IG: Instant gratification

We celebrate every moment. Back in the day, there was no time to stop and take stock. Freedom came with a lot of free time. Small achievements feel like lifetime victories. It used to be that you work yourself to a nub and if lucky someone would tell you after you retire that you did a good job. Today, it’s a celebration selfie for every breath taken. Maybe death is closer than it was before, maybe it has moved away to the point that there’s no pressure. Either way we are so preoccupied with capturing the moment than we are in being present within that moment.
